Report of one day State level workshop on “Preparing libraries as per NAAC’s Revised Accreditation Framework” and “ Recent UGC Norms concerned with API & CAS for Librarians” on 6th February, 2018.
Central Library of our college had organized one day workshop on “Preparing libraries as per NAAC’s Revised Accreditation Framework” and “ Recent UGC Norms concerned with API & CAS for Librarians” on 6th February, 2018.
The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp with the hands of our Chief Guest & Keynote Speaker Dr.Debajit N. Sarkar, Principal, Raheja College of Arts & Commerce, Santacruz, Hon’ble Shri.Jagannathji Patil, Chairman – T.Z.A.S.P.Mandal, Smt.Pushpalatji Patil, Vice –Chairman- T.Z.A.S.P.Mandal, Shri. Vasantji Patil, Member of the Trust, Dr. A. P. Mahajan, Principal of our college along with Dr. A. B. Shendre, Vice – Principal of the college. The workshop started with the oral & floral welcome of all the dignitaries on the dias.
Ms. Trupti A. Tulsankar, Convener of the Workshop gave a brief introduction about the workshop. Dr.A.P.Mahajan, Principal of our college welcomed all the participants and spoke about the need & important of the workshop.
The Chairman Shri. Jagannathji Patil spoke about the Importance of Reading and Role of Libraries & Librarian to inculcate the reading habits among the students. He emphasis on the phrase “ Vachal tar Vachal”. Prof. Mukesh Patil gave an introduction of Chief Guest Dr. Debajit Sarkar followed by Keynote address given by Dr.Sarkar. In his keynote speech he addresses the librarians about API & CAS for librarians. He has introduced the changes brought by UGC with an introduction of 4th amendment in API & CAS for Librarians. The inaugural session concludes with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Milind Jadhav.
Technical Session – I themed “ Preparing Libraries as per NAAC’s Revised Accreditation Framework” was chaired by Dr. Santosh Hulgabali, Librarian, Nagindas Khandwala College, Malad. He has discussed in detail revised accreditation framework of NAAC & gave Valuable tips & suggestion on how to prepare the Libraries & Librarian themselves for NAAC’s revised Framework.
Technical Session – II-themed “ Recent UGC norms concerned with API & CAS for Librarians” was chaired by Dr. Sachin Shastri, Librarian, Menon College, Bhandup. He has delivered his expertise on UGC 4th Amendment of API & CAS with reference to Librarians. The Session was opened for discussion. Participants were asked the queries about both the topics & get answered by both the resource persons.
The workshop was concluded with Dr.A.P.Mahajan, Principal of our College concluding remarks followed by Vote of thanks proposed by Convener Ms Trupti. A. Tulsankar.
On this workshop from Mumbai & Mumbai Suburbs, Karjat, Raigad, Alibag, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Pen. Pune districts around 62 Librarians of various Colleges were Present. The workshop was a Grand Success.
